Twelve month graphical comparison of Budgets vs Actuals

A 12 month comparison is as a graph of transactions vs. budgets, broken down by month into a 12 month comparison. You can also access this by selecting ‘View graph’ at the top of the Actuals VS Budget report. You can also access this graph from the Income and Expenses report, by clicking on the relevant category. It is also  accessible, in the same way, from the Cash Curve, the Budget Monitor and the Budget Profile.

In all reports above, the Graph is the quickest way to see your budgeted versus actual spending, for any category over a year.

The closer your budget (white) is to your actual spending (green), the closer you are to being on track. It is also a good indication that you have set up your budget items correctly. You should be able to quickly and easily see if anything is out of place.

You can see in the above graph that the spending is not always close to budget. Sometimes it is drastically over budget, sometimes under budget and at other times it is close to budget.

The graph  also  allows you to  filter your results. (Only available with the Small Business Edition)  More details on Filters.

No filter has been used on the above example.
